Utilizes
Manchester II (bi-phase encoded) data, imposed onto the power line via
a sine squared current function. This is the same encoding technique used
for Military Standard 1553 which is the principle communications bus used
on military fighters, Airbus aircraft and the Boeing 777 for many of the
flight control systems. AS-i is also approved and being championed as a
favorite bus for numerous industrial safety systems. For more information

AS-i is primarily targeted
at binary type control applications. It is the ideal lowest level
of a multi-level fieldbus topology. AS-i is a Master/Slave based
network that uses an exchange type protocol, the master sends 4 bits to
the slave, (outputs) and the slave returns 4 bits to the master (inputs).
The network transmits 167 kbits/second and can address up to 62 slaves
in 10mS. 100 meter networks are possible and the user can mix and match
network topologies (bus and star) within reasonable limits.
We have considerable experience with AS-i and
would be pleased to assist you with any development projects.
